Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the NoType application. NoType is developed and operated by Hangzhou Nuosida Technology Co., Ltd. By purchasing, downloading, or using NoType, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Description of Service
NoType is a macOS application that converts speech to text using on-device AI models. All speech recognition processing occurs locally on your Mac. The application functions as a menu bar app, allowing you to dictate text into any application using a customizable hotkey.
2. Purchase and Payment
NoType is available as a one-time purchase through our official website. All transactions and billing are securely processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our authorized payment provider. NoType does not store or directly process any payment information. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with NoType for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days through Paddle's order support at paddle.net — simply look up your order using your email address. Your license will be automatically deactivated upon refund. After the 14-day period, all sales are final. We encourage users to review the system requirements and feature descriptions before purchasing. Upon successful purchase, your license key will be displayed on the confirmation page and sent to your purchase email. You can activate your license on up to 2 devices. If you lose your license key, you can recover it at any time via the "Recover License" link on our website using your purchase email address.
3. System Requirements
NoType requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later and an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, M4, or later). Deeply optimized for Apple Silicon. An internet connection is required for the initial download of AI speech recognition models and for one-time license activation.
4. AI Models and Downloads
NoType downloads open-source AI speech recognition models (Qwen3-ASR) from HuggingFace to enable offline voice recognition. These downloads require a one-time internet connection during initial setup or when switching models. Multiple model variants (different sizes and quantizations) are available to accommodate different hardware capabilities. No personal data is transmitted during these downloads.
5. System Permissions
NoType requires microphone access to capture voice input for speech recognition. The app optionally requests macOS Accessibility permissions to automatically paste transcribed text into your active application. You may decline Accessibility access and paste text manually instead. You can manage these permissions at any time through macOS System Settings.
6. Intellectual Property
NoType and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by NoType and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The app incorporates open-source AI models licensed under their respective open-source licenses. Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
NoType is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Speech recognition accuracy may vary depending on audio quality, accent, background noise, language, and the selected model variant. We do not guarantee 100% transcription accuracy or uninterrupted service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NoType and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the application.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through our official website or email. Your continued use of NoType after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
